Hayseed Dixie is an American band that was formed in 2000 in Nashville, Tennessee. The group is known for its unique blend of bluegrass and rock music, often referred to as "rockgrass." The band's name is a linguistic play on the name of the legendary rock band AC/DC, which hints at their initial approach to music: covering hard rock songs with bluegrass stylings. Hayseed Dixie gained fame with their first album, "A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC," which featured bluegrass renditions of AC/DC songs. Their style has since expanded to include original material as well as covers of rock songs from various other bands.
