Marco Longhini

Italian Early Music Conductor and Scholar

Marco Longhini is an Italian conductor and musicologist known for his expertise in Renaissance and Baroque music. He has gained particular acclaim for his work with the Italian ensemble Delitiæ Musicæ, which he founded in 1992. Longhini has dedicated a significant part of his career to the interpretation and recording of the complete madrigals of the Italian composer Claudio Monteverdi. His recordings of Monteverdi's madrigals, including "Madrigals Book 2," "Madrigals, Book 4," and "Madrigals Book 8; Madrigali Guerrieri Et Amorosi," have been well-received for their historical accuracy and musical sensitivity.
