Pyrrhon is an American experimental death metal band known for their complex and dissonant style. Formed in 2008 in New York City, the band consists of Doug Moore (vocals), Dylan DiLella (guitar), Erik Malave (bass), and Steve Schwegler (drums). They have garnered attention within the extreme metal community for their technical proficiency and challenging musical compositions. Pyrrhon released their debut album "An Excellent Servant But a Terrible Master" in 2011, which set the stage for their subsequent releases. The band's second full-length album, "The Mother of Virtues," came out in 2014 and further established their reputation for pushing the boundaries of death metal with its avant-garde approach. Pyrrhon continued to build on their sound with additional releases, including the EP "Running Out of Skin" in 2016, showcasing their relentless pursuit of innovation within the genre. Their music is characterized by a blend of abrasive riffs, unpredictable structures, and thought-provoking lyrics, often exploring themes of existential dread and societal critique.
