Indiana Line

Indiana Line's roots date back to 1977. Over its many years on the market, it has firmly established itself as one of the most important Italian brands in the audio industry. Indiana Line's product range consists mainly of loudspeakers and installation speakers. Indiana Line designers consistently strive to combine the highest quality of production with a rational use of components. The result is models that in many ways outperform competing loudspeakers in a similar price range.

Diva - The best series in a new version

Among all Indiana Line models, the Diva series has a special place. This flagship product line perfectly combines elegant design with solid craftsmanship and outstanding sound quality. The new Diva Series models feature mechanically and acoustically stable cabinets with a stylish finish. The front panel is painted in matt lacquer (white or black, depending on the colour scheme), while the rest of the cabinet is covered with PVC veneer. Two colour options are available: black cabinet with black front or oak cabinet with white front.

Diva 5

The Indiana Line Diva 5 is a solidly designed and engineered 2.5-band loudspeaker model for which the popular Indiana Line Diva 552 is the reference point.

However, the Diva 5 incorporates many improvements over its predecessor that have led to a significant improvement in the quality of the sound it reproduces. These changes include technical solutions, components used and a new finish. With the Indiana Line Diva 5, we can effectively sound a room of up to approximately 20 m² while ensuring low distortion sound.

A stylish cabinet with a sloping front wall

The Diva 5 has a two-part cabinet made of MDF. One of the parts is a 30 mm thick front panel that increases the mechanical stability of the cabinet and prevents unwanted resonances, thus significantly improving the clarity of the sound. The front panel is recessed into the cabinet and slightly tilted backwards, with a shallower recess at the bottom and a recessed area at the top.the recess is deeper, giving the column a refined look, accentuated by the cast aluminium legs. The attractive design of the Diva 5 is enhanced by the magnetically attached, acoustically sound-proof grille, which replaces the plastic pins previously used to attach this feature, as seen on other columns in the Diva range, including the Diva 552.

Improved electroacoustic transducers

Several changes have been made to the Diva 5 compared to the speakers available in the previous Diva range. Notably, the speaker baskets have been redesigned with more efficient ribbing, which reduces air resistance behind the diaphragm and minimizes unwanted resonances. These baskets were purposefully designed to work seamlessly with Dual-Wave suspension, resulting in both proper function and exceptional aesthetics.

Sophisticated Curv diaphragms

In the Diva 5 2.5-Way, the bass and mid-bass drivers feature Curv (polypropylene composite) diaphragms, which distinguish them from their counterparts in the Diva 552. This choice of material in the woofer ensures a more neutral and accurate low end presentation. These particular diaphragms are manufactured exclusively for Indiana Line by special order.

Computer optimized parameters

The magnetic systems in the woofer and mid-bass driver have been optimized using finite element analysis (FEA) to improve their performance over a wide range of amplitudes and frequencies. The magnetic cores of each transducer are highly saturated, reducing coil inductance and distortion, including intermodulation distortion. In addition, inductance is linearized, as with many previous Indiana Line models, using an Aluring demodulation ring. This element has been applied to both the mid-bass and bass drivers, resulting in a cleaner and more articulate sound even at high volumes, regardless of the genre of music being played.

The original design of the rubber hinge

A unique design introduced for the first time in an Indiana Line speaker is the Dual-Wave surround, which is present in both the bass and mid-bass drivers of the Diva 5. This precision-engineered top suspension extends the speaker's linear operating range, reduces distortionespecially in the low bass register, and improves midrange articulation. This has a particularly positive impact on the sound of percussion, strings and acoustic instruments. The Dual-Wave solution also reduces instability in the frequency response due to the resonance of the diaphragm edge without the need for additional varnishing. The visually appealing design of Dual-Wave transducers is reminiscent of professional stereo equipment with so-called accordion suspension.

Precision tweeter with silk dome

Another new feature of Indiana Line loudspeakers, compared to those currently available on the market, is the tweeter design. It incorporates a unique radial damping chamber in the form of a ring surrounding the voice coil, as opposed to the commonly used volume behind the dome. This design provides a natural high frequency sound and helps avoid unwanted resonances often associated with conventional designs. Significant changes have also been made to the tweeter faceplate of the Diva 5, which is cast in aluminium and features an optimally contoured rubber surface. These changes help to expand the soundstage and fill the room more effectively with high frequencies.

Computer-optimised turnout

The turnout used in the Diva 5 has been redesigned and optimised using computer simulations. The circuit topology, number of components and their parameters were precisely matched to the loudspeaker cabinet and transducers, resulting in a balanced frequency response, low distortion, reduced power loss and sound quality that has been verified by extensive listening tests. Specially designed circuitry allows the Diva 5 to work seamlessly with virtually any amplifier.

Air coils and foil capacitors

The tweeter's filtering system uses only air coils and foil capacitorscoils, eliminating the potential distortion often associated with electrolytic or ferrite-core capacitors. The coil cores have a laminated iron core with a high silicon content to minimize distortion associated with the iron core.
