Indiana Line Tesi 3 bookshelf loudspeaker

Tesi 3 is the larger of the two bookshelf loudspeakers in the new Tesi series from Indiana Line - a manufacturer with Italian roots and a long tradition in loudspeaker design. The designers drew inspiration from the Tesi 261, praised for its versatility and great value for money. The new version, however, is a step forward in both these aspects. The result is a sound with even greater dynamics and minimised distortion. As a result, the Tesi 3 can be used successfully in both compact stereo systems and home theater setups.

Versatile styling in three variants

At first glance, it is clear that the Tesi 3 is a sophisticated design model. The body of the new loudspeaker has subtly rounded corners and the two drivers have been given a new, more aesthetically pleasing look that also promotes proper sound dispersion in the case of the tweeter. The speakers are also available in three versatile colour options: white, mocha and black oak. A magnetic grille is also included. It should be pointed out that the MDF cabinet has been reinforced on the inside, which prevents resonances. The front bass port not only increases the depth of the low tones, but also makes it easier to position the speaker correctly in the listening room.

New front tweeter

The tweeter used in the Tesi 3 features a 26mm diameter diaphragm, radial damping chamber and a powerful neodymium magnet. A significant change from the Tesi 261 is its front design. It now has a rectangular shape, reminiscent of the high-end Diva series, which positively affects the sound dispersion. The sound in this range is clearer, un-fatiguing and natural.

Carefully redesigned mid-bass transducer

The Tesi 3 is a two-band loudspeaker that has had significant changes introduced to also improve its low-frequency performance. The membrane, made of mica polypropylene, features high rigidity and excellent damping, resulting in greater accuracy in sound reproduction. In addition, the mid-bass transducer is equipped with an impedance linearization ring and a larger magnet than was used in the Tesi 261. Engineers also replaced the phase corrector used in its predecessor with a lightweight dust cap. Thanks to these innovations, the Tesi 3 boasts even deeper bass and clear mids, even at high volume levels.

Innovative Dual-Wave suspension

A major change in the mid-bass design is the new suspension, known as Dual-Wave. Introduced for the first time in Indiana Line's history in the Diva Series. Its main advantage is the extension of the linear operating range of the transducer and the reduction of intermodulation distortion, especially in the lowest frequency range. However, it also benefits the midrange, providing greater clarity. This improvement is particularly noticeable in percussive, acoustic and vocal tracks.

Improved turnout

The loudspeaker turnout used in Tesi 3 has been improved through the application of specialized measurement systems. The topology is based on the proven solutions used in the higher-end Diva model. As a result, lower distortion levels, optimum off-axis sound dispersion and uniform impedance characteristics have been achieved compared to its predecessor. In addition, the Tesi 3 boasts higher efficiency, allowing it to work seamlessly with almost any amplifier or receiver.
