The physiology of the human ear's perception of sound implies that for proper presentation, theof low frequencies requires much higher power than for mid and high frequencies. The ability to transmit the lowest frequencies is thus always proportional to the size of the loudspeaker diaphragm and the internal volume of the cabinet. It is therefore virtually impossible for speakers of smaller dimensions to carry the lowest bass frequencies. The solution is to add an active subwoofer (a special speaker for reproducing only the lowest bass frequencies) to the audio system. Here again, acoustics and the physiology of sound perception by the human ear, which very precisely locates the direction from which the higher frequency sounds come. The high frequencies propagate as a narrow beam, for the middle frequencies the narrow beam becomes a cone and the low bass frequencies propagate spherically. This means in practice that for low frequencies up to about 100 Hz we cannot tell where they are coming from. Therefore, it is possible to place a subwoofer almost anywhere in the room.

A100P - Active Subwoofer - ideal for use in smaller or medium sized rooms.

An active subwoofer has an indispensable function in any system, but sometimes it can be difficult to find a suitable place for it.The JBL Stage A100P measures only 34 cm wide, so you can place it where space is limited.Although its small size can make the A100P very unobtrusive in a room, this is certainly not true of its performance.A 10" (250 mm) woofer with a rigid polycellulose diaphragm drives the amplifier with 150 W RMS (up to 300 W at peak), and that's thehand that you'll actually hear the bass as the sound engineer mixed it in the studio - with authentic power you'd usually only feel in a cinema or live concert. The bass will always be well-controlled, tight and distortion-free.

The heavy-duty cabinet is built to withstand internal resonances, and there are two bass-reflex outputs on the back in addition to the amplifier controls. The speaker is front-facing, and a grille made from a well-sounding fabric is included. The finish is a textured matte black vinyl.Also included are 4 screw-in feet (spikes) and a power cord.
