Scissor Sisters is an American pop/rock band that formed in 2001 in New York City. The group is known for its flamboyant and energetic style, which blends pop rock with the glam rock of the 1970s, as well as elements of disco and electronic music. The band consists of vocalists Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, multi-instrumentalist Babydaddy, lead guitarist Del Marquis, and drummer Randy Real (who replaced Paddy Boom). They gained mainstream recognition with their self-titled debut album "Scissor Sisters" in 2004, which included the hit single "Take Your Mama". Their subsequent albums, "Ta-Dah" (2006) and "Night Work" (2010), continued their success with catchy tunes and high-energy performances. The band's work has been characterized by a sense of inclusivity and celebration of LGBTQ+ culture. They have enjoyed considerable success in the UK as well as a cult following in the United States.
