For twenty-two years, the Ramones were undoubtedly the loudest and fastest band in the world, with 14 studio albums and more than 2,000 shows played to their legendary musical credit. Formed in 1974 in the Queens borough of New York City, the band that once conquered the charts with the song "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker" perfectly embodied the lifestyle between sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll like few others. Influenced by the rock'n'roll of the 50s and the surf sound of the 60s, Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy created a stark contrast to the mainstream music of the time with their frantic two-minute songs, pioneering the punk genre.
